Bedroom suite
A primary suite in a north-facing room, designed around the fact that it would never get direct sun.

01 · The problem
North-facing, permanently cool light, and a previous scheme in cool greys that made it read as grey on grey for most of the year.
02 · The move
We warmed everything the daylight touches — timber, wool, a clay-toned plaster on the bed wall — and let the cool light fall on it rather than fighting it.
03 · The detail
A full-height upholstered headboard wall absorbs sound and gives the bed a proper anchor. Reading lights are on independent circuits each side, because two people rarely stop reading at the same time.
