01 — The piece
In detail.
The Tana is about one surface. Its round oak top is cut with fine parallel reeds across its whole width, so it catches low light and turns an ordinary table top into something with texture, without a single decorative addition.
The legs are kept slim and set well back from the edge, so the top appears to float above the rug. The reeds are finished with a hard-wax oil that can be refreshed in an afternoon, so the table can be lived on, not just looked at.
